CNN's Jake Tapper calls approval ratings for President Biden 'brutal'
CNN political director David Chalian said that Biden's national approval rating is at 40 percent.
CNN host Jake Tapper on Tuesday called the approval ratings for President Joe Biden "brutal."
The outlet's political director David Chalian showed exit polls of Biden's approval rating in different states, including Wisconsin and Arizona.
"In Arizona ... he's 43 percent," Chalian said. "He's slightly above his national number in Arizona. If you look at Michigan, he's at 42 percent approval."
He said that Biden's national approval rating is at 40 percent.
Chalian added that Biden has a 38% approval rating in Wisconsin, which could be a considerable hurdle for Vice President Kamala Harris.
"These approval ratings for Joe Biden are brutal," Tapper said in response to the numbers.
