Florida shooting leaves journalist and 9-year-old dead, more injured
Orange County Sheriff John Mina indicated that both the reporter and photographer had sustained gunshots and one of them had died.
At least one journalist and a nine-year-old child are dead following a shooting in the Orlando, Fla., suburb of Pine Hills on Wednesday.
A reporter and photographer with News 13 in Orlando arrived on the scene of a suburban shooting in which a woman in her 20s was killed hours earlier, according to Fox News. Orange County Sheriff John Mina indicated that both the reporter and photographer had sustained gunshots and one of them had died.
The suspect then allegedly killed a 9-year-old girl and shot her mother, who is in critical condition, according to WESH2.
Mina told News 13 that his department had apprehended one individual they believed to be responsible for all the shooting incidents that occurred.
"So we have detained the person believed to be responsible for the murder this morning as well as the shootings this afternoon," he said. "He is 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses. He is being formally charged in the murder from this morning, and we expect additional charges for the shootings of the four people this afternoon."
Moses has a "lengthy criminal history," according to the sheriff.
