Former first son Hunter Biden indicated in a wide-ranging interview Monday that he was not sure what his political affiliation was and openly criticized his father's handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan and immigration policies.

The hours-long interview touched on many issues, but included stark criticism of the Afghanistan withdrawal, which Hunter Biden admitted was an "obvious f***ing failure."

"I think the failure, one of the failures, was the way in which they executed the withdrawal from Afghanistan,” Hunter Biden said on “The Shawn Ryan Show" podcast. “I think it was an obvious f***ing failure. Thirteen Marines are dead.

"I think that there was a better way to do it, and I think that—and I can blame it on his generals, I can blame it on the people, the way in which we did it, but my dad always knew this also is that the buck stops with him."

The former first son said he believes withdrawing from Afghanistan was right, but that it was done in the wrong method.

“I think that in terms of the 20 years of blood that your brothers gave to for an endless war in $8 trillion, is that there is a never-ending lust to continue to sell material, and our blood, sweat, and money to a country that has never been anything but a killing ground for empires,” Hunter Biden said.

“So regardless, whether you believe that or not, the execution of the withdrawal resulted, I think, in—and by the way, you can blame part of it on [President Donald] Trump and that he let all those people out of the prison, the Taliban—but you know what, it stops with the president," he added.

Hunter Biden also admitted that he was not sure he was still a Democrat and appeared to separate from the party on issues like illegal immigration, stating the country is "addicted to the problem” of immigration and that people are just "talking past each other" on the issue.

“We need immigration,” the former first son said. “We need vibrant immigration, but we don’t want immigrants that are coming here illegally, draining us of resources, and also—and being prioritized above people that are actual, literal heroes, that are coming home, that are still recovering from 20 years of endless war.”

The Trump administration has focused on cracking down on illegal immigration, which surged during the Biden administration due to the former president's open border policies.
