Just the News launches mobile app for iPhone and Android devices
App offers a three-dimensional experience so users can read, listen or watch Just the News content as well as comment, receive breaking news alerts and access the material reporters used to build stories.
The Facts Inside Our Reporter’s Notebook
"We have been moving aggressively into the podcasting and television space, where millions of Americans now consume our content each month. And we wanted to create a mobile experience that leverages the three ways we offer to read, listen and watch the news," said John Solomon, the founder, CEO and Editor in Chief of the Just the News.
The new app empowers readers to comment on content and showcases the signature Just the News "Dig In" tool that allows readers to essentially access the reporters' notebook of documents, audio, video and research links used to build each story.
It also includes a badge alert system that notifies readers of breaking news and major developments around the world.
Solomon said the company is already fast at work on next year's version of the app, which will enhance consumers' ability to communicate directly with journalists and to receive exclusive documents, audio and video.
"Part of our goal in building out our TV division is to create a two-way conversations with every day Americans. Those consumers who have joined the Just the News VIP subscriber club already have gotten a taste of this with our monthly meetings where journalists answer questions, share documents and give an inside look to what's going on in Washington and around the world," he said.
"As we roll out our new TV shows next year, the goal is to have an app that can leverage and facilitate a larger conversation while staying true to our promise to deliver news and not noise," Solomon added.
