Matt Gaetz makes debut on OANN, predicts Johnson will retain speakership on first vote
"Mike Johnson will be elected Speaker today," Gaetz wrote on the social media platform, X.
Former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz made his debut Thursday night with his show on One America News Network, on which he interviewed some of his former GOP colleagues and discussed the House speaker vote.
Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie told Gaetz he was a "hell no" when it came to voting for House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La.
Gaetz, whose no vote led to the ouster of the previous GOP House leader, California Rep. Kevin McCarthy, predicted on social media tha Johnson would be elected in only one round of voting.
"Mike Johnson will be elected Speaker today," Gaetz wrote on the social media platform, X. "On the first vote. People might like or dislike that. I’m just reporting the news."
During Gaetz's debut on OANN, he was criticized about his appearance regarding the makeup or potential botox, according to Yahoo News.
"Fire that makeup artist!" a user on X wrote. "They can do better or are they purposefully making you look like a villain? The lighting and makeup make such a huge impact, this isn’t the best that can be done."
