Another Philadelphia television station helicopter took a video of the wreckage.
The news helicopter of a Philadelphia-based ABC affiliate crashed in New Jersey, killing a pilot and a photographer who were on their way back from an assignment, the outlet said Wednesday.
The 6ABC Action News helicopter crashed Tuesday around 8 p.m. in Washington Township, which is less than 20 miles south of Philadelphia, as the team returned from the Jersey Shore, according to the local outlet.
The station did not identify the deceased because their families are still being notified about the incident. Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
The New Jersey State Park Police said a debris field was discovered shortly after midnight when it crashed in a remote wooded section of the Wharton State Forest.
Another Philadelphia television station helicopter took a video of the wreckage.
The helicopter, known as Chopper 6, was a 2013 American Eurocopter AS-350A-STAR leased by the local outlet from U.S. Helicopters Inc. based in North Carolina.
