Tucker Carlson reportedly spotted in Moscow amid speculation of interview with Vladimir Putin

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was reportedly spotted in the Russian capital amid speculation that he may be visiting Moscow to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. 

Russian outlet Mash said on the social media platform Telegram on Saturday that Carlson "has been in Moscow for three days already." The outlet also posted a picture of Carlson in a group of men with traveling bags and said that on Saturday he watched the ballet "Spartacus" at Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre. 

Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, did not directly state whether the Russian president would give an interview to Carlson, instead saying, "We’ll wait and see," per Russian outlet Tass.

The idea of a potential interview with Putin sparked both praise and backlash online. 

"Democrats and their propagandists in the media are spasming at the prospect of Tucker Carlson interviewing Putin. They feel entitled to the position of gatekeeper and believe they are the ones who tell you what to think and believe," Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said on X, formerly Twitter, Saturday.

InfoWars founder Alex Jones said he hopes Carlson interviews Putin. "For people freaking out about it, it’s time for you to grow up. Tucker is doing what real reporters do," he also said. 

Meanwhile, former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., who often bucked his own party in Congress, called Carlson "a traitor" for visiting Russia amid its war with Ukraine.
