YouTube has become the world's largest media company, surpassing Disney, after it raked in over $60 billion last year.

Financial research firm MoffettNathanson reported Monday that the media company has raised over $62 billion in revenue in 2025, beating out the Walt Disney Co.’s media business, which generated $60.9 billion last year.

The majority of YouTube's income comes from its advertising deals, which brought in over $40 billion last year, but its subscription business has over 10 million subscribers, which also added to the total. The platform's subscription business includes access to YouTube Premium, YouTube Music, NFL Sunday Ticket and YouTube TV.

The firm said YouTube is now worth an estimated $500 billion-$560 billion, which is notably more than its competitors, and the closest would be Netflix, which has a market cap of about $409 billion, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“I am a technologist, but I also love media and storytelling," YouTube CEO Neal Mohan told the outlet. “Leading YouTube is a privilege where I can actually bring both those pieces together, that human storytelling and creativity and the best of technology, that’s what motivates me every morning.”
