"[T]he Senate Committees ought to be investigating this as well. But under the leadership of the Democrats, they have no interest in this whatsoever," Johnson said.

Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson on Monday supported a "damage assessment" by the House and Senate Intelligence Committees to determine any adverse impact that the Biden family's business dealings have had on national security.

Appearing on the "Just the News, No Noise" television show, Johnson discussed his prior investigative efforts to review the president's direct involvement with his family's dealings. Host John Solomon highlighted revelations that the then-former vice president often appeared at meetings between his son and his business partners, including meetings with figures that could be compromising to national security, before asking whether the Intelligence panels ought to conduct a damage assessment of Biden family activities.

"Yes, and of course, the Senate Committees ought to be investigating this as well," Johnson replied. "But under the leadership of the Democrats, they have no interest in this whatsoever."

"You have Senator [Chuck] Grassley [R-Iowa] and I uncovered all the the vast web of foreign financial entanglements flowing in from all kinds of countries, many of them are adversaries. And the media is not clearly, you know, apparently upset about that," he lamented. He then contrasted media and Democratic apathy on Biden family scandals with the hysteria and gusto driving Democratic efforts to investigate alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

"So, again, the double standard is grotesque; the hypocrisy is grotesque," he went on. "But this represents a real threat to our national security. Again, we don't know all the details, but I've said this in the past: Chinese intelligence, Russian intelligence, Iranian intelligence, they probably do. And I think it does absolutely compromise this President and is a threat to our national security as a result."
