Argentinian President Javier Milei will attend CPAC
"This fiery Argentinian president Javier Milei is coming, who famously wielded a chainsaw and talked about how he was going to slash the bureaucracy," Schlapp said.
Conservative Political Action Conference Chairman Matt Schlapp says Argentinian President Javier Milei will be attending the 2024 event that begins next week.
"This fiery Argentinian president Javier Milei is coming, who famously wielded a chainsaw and talked about how he was going to slash the bureaucracy," Schlapp says in a pre-recorded episode of the Just the News, No Noise TV show set to air Thursday night. "By the way, he is doing that."
Last year, Argentina elected the conservative populist Milei as president. He has been compared to former President Donald Trump in his campaign promises and style. Milei recently surprised a number of customers when he chose to fly commercial as president.
"He also famously said there's no plan B, meaning Argentina only has one path forward to get to economic stability and it's by his reform agenda," Schlapp said.
Some campaign promises Milei made while running for president included privatizing companies and dramatically slashing government spending.
CPAC holds an annual conference at the National Harbor, in suburban Maryland, from Feb. 21-24.
