The Austrian developer of the Glock handgun, Gaston Glock passed away on Wednesday at age 94.
The Austria Press Agency reported that the Glock company announced his death. As of press time, the cause of death is unknown.
Glock founded his company in 1963 in Deutsch-Wagram, close to Vienna, The Associated Press reports.
The handguns the company manufactured are used in different countries' military forces and owned by private customers.
Over 25,000 handguns were delivered to the Austrian military between the years of 1982 and 1984, according to the company.
The Glock company also developed military products such as field knives starting in the 1970s.
