Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after losing consciousness and hitting his head, according to reports. He was reported to have also experienced chest pain. He will remain in the hospital overnight.

According to a statement from Netanyahu's office, dehydration was the cause of him losing consciousness.

He addressed the public from the hospital saying, "Yesterday I spent some time at the Kinneret with my wife, in the sun, without a hat and without water. Not a good idea."

"Following the recommendation of the doctors, the Prime Minister continues to undergo additional routine tests," his office stated.

He was taken to the emergency room from his home in Caesarea and was fully conscious upon arrival, according to The Jerusalem Post

To be certain his brain wasn't damaged from the fall, he had to undergo a brain imaging procedure.

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid posted on Twitter that he hopes Netanyahu has "a complete recovery and good health."
