Protesters rush stage during DeSantis speech at New Hampshire fundraising event
DeSantis is expected to run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, although he hasn't yet announced his candidacy.
Protesters interrupted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's speech Friday by rushing the stage during a GOP fundraising event in New Hampshire.
Two women yelled out, "Jews against DeSantis," as they stormed the stage. They were quickly escorted out after it occurred.
"The women who disrupted his address are with IfNotNow, an organization of American Jews protesting against the Israeli government and its treatment of Palestinians," according to The Hill.
DeSantis responded to the situation with a joke saying, "You've got to have a little spice in the speech."
The event the Florida governor was speaking at was the Amos Tuck Dinner, a fundraising event for the New Hampshire Republican Party.
DeSantis is expected to run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, although he hasn't yet announced his candidacy.
He has been traveling around the country for speaking engagements in states such as Ohio and Virginia, where he spoke at Liberty University in Lynchburg.
DeSantis has been consistently coming in second place behind former President Donald Trump in GOP primary polls.
