Ramaswamy launches website to fire RNC Chairwoman McDaniel
"I am sick & tired of this Republican Establishment that has made us a party of losers," Ramaswamy wrote on on the social media platform X.
Republican GOP presidential candidate and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy doubled down Wednesday on his call to have Ronna McDaniel removed as Republican National Committee chairwoman with a website called "Fire Ronna."
Ramaswamy called for her resignation last week during a primary debate, one day after the GOP underperformed in elections Tuesday night.
"I am sick & tired of this Republican Establishment that has made us a party of losers," Ramaswamy wrote on the social media platform X on Wednesday. "Where is the accountability for years of losing: 2018, 2020, 2022 and now 2023? A week ago on the GOP Debate stage, I called on Ronna Romney McDaniel to resign. Now, I'm asking grassroots conservatives across the nation to join me so she can feel the power of the people."
The website launched by Ramaswamy asks people to vote on whether McDaniel should resign or not and then sign their name to a petition.
During the Nov. 7 elections, Republicans lost the Kentucky gubernatorial race with incumbent Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear winning reelection over GOP Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Virginia Democrats maintained control in the state Senate and won control of the House of Delegates.
"We got trounced last night in 2023 and I think that we have to have accountability in our party," Ramaswamy said on the debate stage. "For that matter, Ronna, if you want to come up on stage tonight. You want to look the GOP voters in the eye and tell them you resign... I will turn over my time to you."
Ronna responded to Vivek, saying that he just "needs a headline," in an interview with Fox Business, according to Axios.
