Republican Congressman shutting Georgia office down temporarily over 'serious threats of violence'
He said that these threats have been reported to the Capitol Police and they will be fully investigated.
Congressman Rich McCormick, R-Ga., announced Tuesday that he would be temporarily shutting down his Georgia office due to his staff getting violent threats.
"I take the safety of my team seriously," McCormick wrote on the social media platform X. "I am temporarily closing my physical district office location in Cumming, GA due to serious threats of violence against my staff."
He said that these threats have been reported to the Capitol Police and they will be fully investigated.
"We will still be working for you remotely so reach out to my staff if you have any needs," the post concluded. "Proud to serve you all."
McCormick did not specify what the threats were, according to The Hill.
