Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson said that the most recent January 6 footage wasn't shown until just recently because it went against the mainstream narrative.

"We don't know about it because it goes against the narrative of, 'thousands of armed insurrectionists were involved in sedition against the United States government,'" Johnson said on the Thursday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.

Two years after the Jan. 6th U.S. Capitol riot, federal prosecutors have admitted there is footage of some cops consorting with the riotous crowd and a retired Capitol Police executive divulges there are sizzle reels of all defendants inside the Capitol that were prepared for the FBI.

Johnson said that he has had little success while trying to get answers.

"I've written a number of oversight letters shortly after January 6 and have gotten basically no responses," he stated. "There is a much larger story about January 6 that is not being told right now."

He said that Democrats and the mainstream media have a narrative they want to keep alive.

"It's been covered up by the establishment, by Democrats and by the mainstream media," Johnson continued. "They want the narrative that half of Americans are potentially domestic terrorists and that they showed up on January 6 trying to take down the government. And that's just not what happened."
