Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said on Thursday there would be a second attempt to censure California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff after the first try failed.

The House voted on Wednesday to kill Luna's first bill that would have censured Schiff. The vote was 225 to 196, with seven members voting present. Twenty Republicans voted alongside the Democrats to table the resolution.

Luna says that she has come to an agreement with the 20 Republicans who voted against her bill. The main difference is that the first bill called for fining Schiff up to $16 million, which is not part of the new version of the bill.

"We came to terms and negotiations and the language that will censure and refer him to an ethics investigation because of the fact that he knowingly used his position as the chairman of House Intelligence to lie to the American people, to lie to his fellow colleagues, and also too, violated the rights, the civil liberties of individuals like Carter Page," Luna said during an interview with Fox Business.

Schiff has received much criticism from Republicans for his role in investigating former President Donald Trump. Many of them said Schiff had made reckless and partisan claims, especially after the release of the Durham report, which indicated that the FBI began its investigation of the 2016 Trump campaign without any predicating evidence.

"'An objective and honest assessment of these strands of information should have caused the FBI to question not only the predication for Crossfire Hurricane, but also to reflect on whether the FBI was being manipulated for political or other purposes,' the [Durham] report said, using the FBI's code name for the Trump-Russia probe. 'Unfortunately, it did not,'" reported The Associated Press

A draft of Luna's new resolution obtained by Fox News accuses Schiff of spreading lies regarding the Russia collusion narrative.

"For years, Representative Schiff has spread false accusations that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia," the draft states.

"As ranking minority member and Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Representative Schiff behaved dishonestly and dishonorably on many other occasions, including by publicly, falsely denying that his staff communicated with a whistleblower to launch the first impeachment of President Trump," it continues.
