Bush has come under fire for supporting the "Defund the Police" movement while spending tens of thousands of dollars on private security.
Missouri Democrat Rep. Cori Bush's campaign has given tens of thousands of dollars in the first half of 2023 to her husband Cortney Merrittis for private security and other expenses, filings show.
The new filing reviewed by Fox News Digital on Sunday shows that between April and June, Merrittis received $17,500 in security costs and "wage expenses." In total, he received $30,000 for his services in 2023.
Bush also gave $62,000 during this time to the St. Louis-based PEACE Security.
Bush has come under fire for years for supporting the "Defund the Police" movement while spending tens of thousands of dollars on private security.
In 2022, Bush's campaign paid Merrittis more than $62,000 for security before she officially tied the knot with him in February, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
