Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State under former President Donald Trump, has endorsed Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) for a fourth term in Congress.

"I am grateful to have Secretary Pompeo's support for my campaign for re-election," Banks said.

Pompeo appeared with Banks at a luncheon in Indiana for the endorsement, according to a press release from the congressman's campaign.

"Secretary Pompeo’s leadership around the globe helped keep America strong, safe and respected," Banks said. "His work helping to promote peace in the middle east through the historic Abraham Accords, holding China accountable, ensuring Iran did not obtain nuclear weapons, and protecting religious liberty were instrumental to the success of President Trump’s America First Agenda."

Pompeo tweeted Saturday about his endorsement of Banks.

"He is a principled conservative leader, and I hope Hoosiers will join with me in supporting Rep. Banks so that he can continue to deliver good outcomes for Indiana and for America!" Pompeo wrote.
