GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna proposes fining Adam Schiff $16m for 'lies' about Trump-Russia collusion
Special counsel Robert Mueller spent $32 million on his probe into the now-discredited allegations that the Trump 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.
Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna filed a resolution to censure, condemn and fine Rep. Adam Schiff $16 million, which is half the cost of the Trump-Russia investigation that she says was launched because of the California Democrat's lies.
The resolution introduced Tuesday states that Schiff "abused" and "exploited" his access to sensitive information on the House Intelligence Committee "to encourage and excuse abusive intelligence investigations of Americans for political purposes."
The resolution also states that "the American taxpayers paid $32 million to fund the investigation into collusion that was launched as a result of Rep. Schiff's lies, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information."
Special counsel Robert Mueller spent $32 million on his probe into the now-discredited allegations that the Trump 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.
"It is the obligation of House Leadership to back up this motion for the American people and hold this feckless man accountable," Luna said when she introduced the resolution.
