GOP Rep. Steve Stivers announces departure from Congress to lead Ohio Chamber of Commerce
The GOP lawmaker will depart from Congress next month.
Rep. Steve Stivers announced on Monday that next month he will vacate his congressional seat to serve as Ohio Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.
The Ohio Republican, who won reelection in November and has spent just over a decade representing the Buckeye State's 15th Congressional District, will step down effective May 16.
His departure comes as Democrats control the House by a thin margin and the GOP hopes to regain control of the chamber during the 2022 election cycle.
