House GOP Conference Chair Stefanik announces second slate of candidates to get her PAC endorsement
Stefanik's E-PAC is now backing 18 Republican women competing in the upcoming midterm.
House GOP Chairwoman Elise Stefanik's political action committee on Tuesday announced a second round of 2022 candidate endorsements.
Stefanik’s E-PAC selected 10 female Republican congressional candidates and an additional 10 “Women to Watch,” with the primary season already underway.
During the 2020 election cycle, E-PAC helped over a dozen GOP female candidates get elected to Congress, leading then-President Trump to declare “the year of the Republican women.”
Prior to the 2020 election, just 13 Republican women served in the House.
This year, Stefanik, of New York, hopes to continue the trend with PAC endorsements for congressional hopefuls in battleground districts including: Tanya Contreras Wheeless, Arizona; Anna Paulina Luna, Florida; Erin Houchin, Indiana; Annie Black, Nevada; Liz Joy, New York; Madison Gesiotto Gilbert, Ohio; Lori Chavez-DeRemer, Oregon; Morgan Ortagus, Tennessee; Cassy Garcia, Texas; and Mayra Flores, Texas.
“It's clear there is no shortage of all-star Republican women this cycle," Stefanik said. "I look forward to supporting these Rising Stars across the finish line in both their primaries and general elections."
Stefanik’s “Women to Watch” list includes GOP candidates Catalina Lauf in Illinois, Jessica De La Cruz in Rhode Island, and Yesli Vega in Virginia.
