House passes Defense bill with FISA extension, military pay raise, measure heads to Biden's desk
Bill now goes to President Joe Biden's desk for his approval
The GOP-led House on Thursday passed the National Defense Authorization Act, an annual security spending bill that this year includes a 5.2% pay raise for military members.
The Democrat-led Senate passed the roughly 3,000-page measure – a comprise deal between negotiators from the two chamber – on Wednesday evening.
The bill passed in the House 310-118, with 73 Republicans and 44 Democrats opposed to the bill, according to CSPAN.
The bill, which also included an extension of the controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, now goes to President Joe Biden's desk for his approval.
The raise for U.S. military service members is the largest for them in over two decades, according to CNN.
