House Republicans are set to hold the first impeachment inquiry hearing against President Joe Biden next week as Congress investigates allegations of abuse of power and corruption.

Lawmakers are expected to review existing evidence and explain the inquiry's status at the scheduled Sept. 28 hearing, Just the News confirmed Tuesday.

“The hearing will focus on constitutional and legal questions surrounding the President’s involvement in corruption and abuse of public office,” a House Oversight Committee spokesperson said in a statement.

The hearing was first reported by Fox News. It will be the first since House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., announced a formal impeachment inquiry into Biden last week.

Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky.; House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio; and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., are leading the investigation as Biden has been accused of being involved in his son's foreign business deals.
