MTG moves to censure House Democrat over bill to strip Trump of Secret Service protection
"Democrats should be held accountable not only for their rhetoric but also for their actions," Greene wrote on the social media platform, X.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Wednesday introduced a resolution to censure Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., citing his refusal to withdraw a bill to strip former President Donald Trump of Secret Service protection.
"I rise today to announce I'm introducing a resolution to censure the ranking member of Homeland Security Committee, Bennie Thompson, from Mississippi," Greene said on the House floor.
Earlier this year, Thompson introduced legislation that would remove former President Donald Trump's Secret Service protection due to his status as a convicted felon.
"Democrats should be held accountable not only for their rhetoric but also for their actions," Greene wrote on the social media platform, X.
"Bennie Thompson refuses to withdraw his bill that would leave President Trump unprotected from would-be assassins even after two attempts on Trump’s life in just two months," Greene's post on X continued. "Bennie Thompson must be censured."
