Rep. Claudia Tenney says Biden is 'enriching the cartels' with accelerated Title 42 exceptions
"It's really incredible," the New York Republican said, that "they don't realize what a negative this is for the Democrats."
President Joe Biden is "enriching the cartels for human trafficking [and] drug trafficking" by encouraging Border Patrol agents to let illegal immigrants into the U.S. before Title 42 expires, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) said Monday.
Her comments on Monday's "Just the News, Not Noise" come after Just the News reported the Biden administration has ordered agents to begin allowing multiple exceptions to the Trump-era Title 42 policy a month before its scheduled expiration.
The Trump administration used authority under the public health law to turn back illegal migrants as a pandemic control tool.
Repealing Title 42 will do more than spread COVID-19, Tenney warned. She saw the medical exam process for illegal immigrants firsthand and said that "a lot of these children had not just COVID-19, they had other formerly eradicated diseases" such as mumps, measles and tuberculosis.
"It's really incredible," she said, that "they don't realize what a negative this is for the Democrats from a political perspective, but just how dangerous it is for the American people that we have this overwhelming number of people coming across the border."
Tenney pointed out that Biden has yet to visit the border.
A poll released last week shows that Biden is losing support from Hispanic voters, presenting possible problems for Democrats during midterms this fall.
Tenney asserted that Democrats "just want to bring people in, and they want to have more voters" through immigration.
"On every level, we're overstressing the system," she said. "It's devastating for our Border Patrol [and] devastating for our taxpayers."
