Rep. Ocasio-Cortez refers to Netanyahu as a 'war criminal' and says he shouldn't address Congress
AOC said that Netanyahu's invitation should be revoked and should never have been given in the first place.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., on Tuesday night referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "war criminal" and said he should not be making an address to Congress.
"This man should not be addressing Congress," she wrote on the social media platform, X. "He is a war criminal. And he certainly has no regard for US law, which is explicitly designed to prevent US weapons from facilitating human rights abuses."
Earlier this month, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced that Netanyahu would be addressing both chambers of Congress on July 24, just before Congress goes into August recess.
The date selection comes after four Congressional leaders recommended the Israeli leader speak to Congress on June 13, but that date was rejected by Netanyahu because it conflicts with a Jewish holiday.
