Sen. Mitt Romney indicated on Monday that he would vote to support legislation to establish a commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riot if Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer seeks to begin debate on the bill.

"I would support the bill," Romney responded after being asked about how he would vote if Sen. Schumer seeks to commence debate on the legislation, a move that demands 60-votes to defeat a filibuster, according to The Hill. The outlet noted that the Utah Republican was not questioned about how he would vote on the matter of final approval of the legislation, which would necessitate only a simple majority.
