Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee announced Wednesday that FBI Director Kash Patel will testify in front of the panel next week, where he is expected to answer questions about his leadership.

The hearing will take place next Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the Hart Senate Office Building.

"When he was confirmed, we made it clear that Kash Patel lacked the experience, judgment, and temperament to lead the FBI," Senate Judiciary Democrats posted on X. "Tragically, the results of his incompetence have been staggering. Next week, Judiciary Democrats will demand he answer for his failed leadership."

The hearing comes as Democrats raise concern about Patel's alleged drinking habits and transparency in his travels and expenses. Senate Judiciary members have questioned whether Patel was spending taxpayer dollars to fund personal travels.

The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. Eastern.
