Senate Republicans blast Biden, Democrats for seeming 'hell-bent on destroying' US
The video comes as Republicans are looking to take over the Senate in the 2024 elections.
Senate Republicans released a video slamming President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party for their policies on the border, foreign affairs, the economy and energy.
"Joe Biden and the Democrats seem hell-bent on destroying this country," Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso, the Senate Republican Conference chair, said Monday in an announcement about the video, which is narrated by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va.
"The country is headed in the wrong direction. Senate Republicans have solutions to get America back on track," Capito says in the video's opening.
Capito also said in the video that Senate Republicans are ready to restart construction on the border wall and end "incentives that feed" the migrant and trafficking crisis.
"As Biden and Democrats bow to aggression from Communist China, Senate Republicans are ready to strengthen America and hold China accountable," she also said. This would be accomplished by taking control of the U.S. supply chain and stopping China from spying, stealing technology and buying U.S. farmland, she said.
Republicans are looking to take over the Senate in the 2024 elections, when 34 seats are up for reelection, 23 of which are held by Democrats or independents, according to 270toWin, an election tracking website. Republicans can retake control of the Senate by gaining two seats or winning the White House in 2024 and gaining one seat.
