A staffer for Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., who was caught filming himself having sex in the Judiciary Committee hearing room, has been fired, according to a statement from the senator's office circulating on X, formerly Twitter.
“Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate. We will have no further comment on this personnel matter,” a spokeswoman for the senator told the New York Post.
The 24-year-old legislative aide posted video of himself having sex with another man on a public X account, with his face clearly visible, according to The Spectator, which first broke the story Friday.
This is the same room where Supreme Court nominees are questioned by senators, and where then-FBI Director James Comey testified about alleged Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

The former staffer admitted in a statement on LinkedIn that he had “shown poor judgement.”
“This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda,” he wrote. “I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace.”
