South Carolina Republican Rep. Jeff Duncan's wife filed for divorce, alleging that the congressman had multiple extramarital affairs and left their home to live with another woman.

Melody Duncan, who married the congressman in 1988 and has three adult children with him, made the divorce filing Friday at the Laurens County Courthouse in South Carolina.

In late August, Rep. Duncan hosted a "Faith and Freedom BBQ," where he portrayed himself as a "dedicated, dutiful husband," according to the court filing obtained by the "New York Post."

One day after the BBQ, Duncan left and went to the home of the alleged other woman, Liz Williams, according to the filing. Williams is reportedly a lobbyist who lives in the D.C. area.

The court filing claims that Duncan “admitted this adulterous relationship to many people, including [the couple’s three sons] and members of his staff.”

The congressman's wife also says she believes that he has "committed adultery during the course of [their] marriage with Liz Williams and at least one other woman," according to the filing.

Melody Duncan asked for the court to grant her possession of the family's homes in South Carolina and Montana, along with all items located inside the homes, and states that the congressman should be responsible for all costs associated with the houses.

Neither of the Duncans have publicly commented on the matter.

Rep. Duncan has been in office since 2011 and is up for reelection in 2024.
