Bannon trial set for May 2021 after arrest last month connected to 'We Build the Wall' fundraiser
The trail is set to begin on May 24
A federal judge in New York on Monday set a trail date of May 24, 2021, for former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and three others facing federal charges in connecting with defrauding a fundraising campaign to build a U.S. border wall.
More than $25 million was collected as part of the "We Build the Wall" campaign, and prosecutors allege that the four individuals were involved in defrauding hundreds of thousands of contributors.
The four defendants, including Steve Bannon, Brian Kolfage, Andrew Badolato and Timothy Shea, have plead not guilty.
Bannon was arrested Aug. 20 and is free on bond.
