Clarence Thomas released from hospital after week-long stay
The Supreme Court justice was admitted for an infection last week.
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was discharged from a Washington, D.C., hospital Friday morning, one week after being admitted for what a court spokesperson described as an infection.
Thomas, 73, checked in to Sibley Memorial Hospital last Friday as he experienced flu-like symptoms. He has been off the bench all week. Chief Justice John Roberts said Thomas would receive briefs and transcripts of oral arguments that he had missed.
News of the justice's hospitalization broke Sunday evening as the court announced his illness. Official channels have declined continued requests for updates on Thomas's health ever since.
