Country star Garth Brooks faces accusations of rape and sexual assault in new lawsuit
Roe alleged that Garths repeatedly harassed her and raped her in 2019 when she was his makeup artist.
Country music star Garth Brooks has been accused of rape and sexual assault in a lawsuit, filed Thursday.
The woman who filed the lawsuit is not named and goes by Jane Roe.
She has alleged that Brooks repeatedly harassed her and raped her in 2019 when she was his makeup artist. Brooks has denied these allegations.
"I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars," he said in a statement, according to NPR. "It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face."
The lawsuit was filed in a California Superior Court by the accuser's attorneys. She had done makeup for Brooks' wife Trisha Yearwood, since 1999.
She said that after having financial hardships, Brooks offered her more work and later took advantage of her.
