New York GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik on Tuesday filed a bar complaint with the New York Committee on Professional Standards, alleging that New York Attorney General Letitia James had conducted a "biased investigation and prosecution" of former President Donald Trump.

James has brought a civil fraud case against Trump, alleging that he manipulated the value of his assets to secure favorable loan terms and lower insurance premiums. Trump maintains his innocence, though the trial has concluded and Judge Arthur Engoron is expected to soon issue a verdict.

Stefanik further contended contended that James made "highly inappropriate and prejudicial comments on social media," NBC News first reported. She has asked that the Attorney Grievance Committee investigate James over the matter.

"It has been her explicit mission since she announced her run for office to go after President Trump," Stefanik also said, according to The Hill. "Such behavior not only undermines the integrity of the legal process but also violated the Rules of Professional Conduct to which James, as a licensed attorney, is bound."

The trial saw Trump feud with both the judge and rail against James, whom he accused of waging a political witch hunt. Earlier this month, the court indicated that the verdict could come "early to mid-February," though the date could be "subject to modifications."

Prior to the trial, Engoron ruled in summary judgement that Trump had committed fraud and the case advanced on other counts. James is seeking more than $370 million in penalties and an order barring him and his two eldest sons from serving as officers in New York-based businesses.
