Ex-NY Gov. Cuomo won't be charged in connection with female trooper's sexual misconduct allegation
Prosecutor found allegation "credible, deeply troubling, but not criminal under New York law"
Former New York Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo will not face criminal charges in connection with a female state trooper's allegation that he touched her inappropriately when she was protecting him during a 2019 event, a Long Island prosecutor says.
Nassau County acting District Attorney Joyce Smith said Thursday that an "exhaustive investigation" into the trooper's allegations had found them to be "credible, deeply troubling, but not criminal under New York law," according to The New York Times.

Cuomo resigned in August following accusations by 11 women, including the state trooper, of his sexual misconduct, which was followed by a damning report by New York Attorney General Letita James that documented the allegations.
A senior State Police investigator "fully corroborated" the trooper’s account of the incident, according to the attorney general's report, The Times also reports.
