A federal judge in Florida on Wednesday denied the Department of Justice's request to unseal grand jury transcripts regarding deceased financier, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Last week, the DOJ requested the court to unseal the documents and transfer the case to New York, where Epstein was indicted after a grand jury investigation in 2019, The New York Times reported. The DOJ had cited “extensive public interest” and “transparency to the American public” in its request.
