Florida Republican Attorney General James Uthmeier sued pharmacuetical giant Pfizer on Thursday and its CEO Albert Bourla accusing them of misleading the public about the safety and effectiveness of its COVID-19 vaccine.

Uthmeier filed the lawsuit in state court, accusing the company and Bourla of violating the state's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act by failing to disclose potential risks, including heart inflammation and other adverse events.

"Weeks ago we learned Fauci and the biomedical state knew the COVID jabs were dangerous but hid it from us," Uthmeier said in a post on X. "While that investigation continues, today we sued Pfizer for deceptively marketing the products as safe—making billions—while pregnant women were miscarrying their babies and teenagers were having heart attacks."

The lawsuit claimed Pfizer pushed Americans to get the vaccine and even shamed those who did not, despite failing to test whether the vaccine stopped the virus from spreading, according to Reuters.

The state is asking the court to force Pfizer to stop the alleged conduct, invoke fines of $10,000 per violation, or $15,000 when seniors or disabled people were harmed, and the return of profits.

Pfizer defended its actions in a comment to Reuters, stating the allegations lacked merit and the company would respond in time.

"The representations made by Pfizer about its COVID-19 vaccine have been accurate and science-based, and the company stands behind the safety and efficacy of its vaccine," the company said.
