Hunter Biden files 'revenge porn' lawsuit against Fox News over miniseries

First son Hunter Biden sued Fox News on Sunday under a "revenge porn" law in New York, for broadcasting nude images of him as part of a mock trial series.

The network aired the photographs as part of their miniseries “The Trial of Hunter Biden: A Mock Trial for the American People” in October of 2022. The series has been removed from the streaming service, but the lawsuit alleges that promotional content for the miniseries is still accessible on the site, according to NBC News.

The lawsuit claims that Fox News violated the "revenge porn" law in New York, which prohibits the publishing of intimate images of a person without consent. The mock trial showed images and videos of Biden completely nude, exposed, and "engaged in sex acts," the lawsuit claimed.

“Fox published and disseminated these intimate images to its vast audience of millions as part of an entertainment program in order to humiliate, harass, annoy, and alarm Mr. Biden and to tarnish his reputation," the lawsuit said.

Biden previously threatened to sue Fox News over the series in April.

Fox News has defended its actions, claiming they were protected by the First Amendment, and that the lawsuit itself was politically motivated "devoid of merit."

"The program was removed within days of the letter, in an abundance of caution, but Hunter Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of multiple investigations and is now a convicted felon," a Fox News spokesperson told Just The News. "Consistent with the First Amendment, FOX News has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court."

The series depicted a "mock trial" of the first son, over his foreign business dealings with countries like Ukraine. The business dealings have led to an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden over his alleged role in the scheme.

The lawsuit comes as Hunter Biden faces another trial over federal tax-related charges in California. He has pleaded not guilty.
