The judge in Donald Trump's New York "hush money" trial told the court he would tell prosecutors to inform Michael Cohen not to speak about the case or his former boss ahead of his expected testimony Monday.

Judge Juan Merchan said he would "direct the people to communicate to Mr. [Michael] Cohen that the judge is asking him to refrain from making any more statements" about the ongoing trial or Trump. He told prosecutors that they should clarify that the directive is coming from the bench.

Trump's lawyers requested a gag order on Cohen after the former lawyer and fixer posted on the social media platform TikTok this weekend donning a t-shirt with a picture of Trump behind bars.
