Jury convicts two men in 2002 killing of Jam Master Jay

A jury on Tuesday found two men guilty in the 2002 killing of Jam Master Jay, the co-founder of hip-hop group Run-DMC.

Born Jason Mizell, Jay was killed in 2002 at a New York City recording studio. The jury convicted Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington on Tuesday, both of whom were accused of killing him in connection with a drug deal, NBC News reported.

Mizell became involved in drug trafficking in the 1990s, prosecutors stated. They further claim that Mizell had acquired a large amount of cocaine and planned to have Washington and Jordan distribute it before dropping Washington from the plan, which led to the murder plot.

The pair face 20 years in prison each.
