Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito indicated this week that he believed he knew who leaked the Dobbs v. Jackson draft decision that overturned the constitutional right to obtain an abortion.

"I do have an opinion, but the evidence available at this time is not strong enough for the court or for me to say this is the person who was responsible," he said in an interview with Fox News.

The draft decision was leaked ahead of the official ruling, prompting protests outside the homes of the court's conservative justices and an assassination attempt on Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

"I never dreamed that the draft of the opinion would be leaked. That was totally unprecedented in the history of the country. It was a grave breach of the trust that everybody who worked in this building had before that point," Alito said.
