As Hunter Biden’s trial is set to begin in less than three weeks, the first son’s generous financial benefactor may be running out of funds.

Kevin Morris, the Hollywood lawyer and friend of Biden, who has loaned the first son at least $6.5 million since meeting him in 2020, has confirmed that his resources are running out, according to Politico.

“The reason Kevin got involved financially in the first place was that he could see that no one was going to help Hunter,” said a person close to Morris interviewed by the outlet. “Now, four and a half years later, there’s still no help — and now Kevin is completely tapped out. So just when Hunter is facing two criminal trials starting in a few weeks, he has no resources. It’s pretty dire.”

The outlet says Kevin Morris confirmed these comments.

Just the News first reported on the generous financial assistance from Morris at the height of Joe Biden’s campaign for president in 2020. Morris loaned Hunter Biden millions to cover five-figure monthly rents at California homes, child support payments, some travel, legal bills, and federal and local tax debts.

In his transcribed interview with the House Oversight Committee in January as part of the impeachment inquiry, Morris detailed his financial assistance to Hunter and describing how some of that assistance went toward organizing a legal defense.

Hunter Biden’s two trials, one in Delaware on gun charges and one in California for tax violations are both set to begin next month, just as funds are beginning to run out.

Hunter Biden's legal team has also faced other difficulties. Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, this week appealed to Delaware Judge Maryellen Noreika to delay the start of his gun trial, claiming difficultly in finding expert witnesses to testify. Lowell claimed that “resources” were strained because the two trials on opposite sides of the country are set to coincide. Noreika rejected the request.
