Peter Navarro's bid to delay prison time denied by appeals court
The decision was unanimous and came from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals.
Peter Navarro, a former advisor to former President Donald Trump, had his bid to avoid federal prison denied by a federal appeals court on Thursday.
Navarro will have to report to federal prison in Miami, Florida, by March 19, according to CNN.
The decision was unanimous and came from the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
The judges said that Navarro “has not shown that his appeal presents substantial questions of law or fact likely to result in reversal, a new trial, a sentence that does not include a term of imprisonment, or a reduced sentence of imprisonment.”
Navarro was sentenced to prison earlier this year for failing to comply with a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol in 2021.
He was convicted of two counts of contempt of Congress last year.
