A member of Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team said Monday during opening statements in the hip-hop artist's sex-trafficking trial the defendant was a "swinger," not a trafficker. 

Combs, 55, faces charges of transportation to engage in prostitution, racketeering and sex trafficking. He was arrested in September 2024 in Manhattan and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Defense attorney Teny Geragos said that the music artist's sexual habits were part of a lifestyle with other consenting adults. 

Geragos said jurors may disagree with Combs' "kinky sex and his preferences for sex," according to The Associated Press.

Prosecutors say the charges against Combs are in relation to “elaborate and produced sex performances” known as “freak offs.”

Geragos did acknowledge some of Combs' faults and said he had a bad temper and sometimes "did the wrong drugs."

The trial for Combs is taking place in Manhattan and is expected to last for eight weeks.
