Supreme Court denies Cornel West's ballot plea in Pennsylvania

Justice Samuel Alito, who oversees Supreme Court cases in Pennsylvania, did not provide a reason for the rejection. West does appear on the ballots in other swing states, including Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin.

The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected independent presidential candidate Cornel West's plea to force election officials in Pennsylvania to notify voters that he is a candidate and can be written on ballots.

Justice Samuel Alito, who oversees Supreme Court cases in Pennsylvania, did not provide a reason for the rejection. West does appear on the ballots in other swing states, including Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin, per CBS News.

West made the appeal to the United States Supreme Court on Wednesday, less than one week before the presidential election.
