The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Friday to stop an order allowing transgender and nonbinary people to choose sex markers on passports.

The lower court order lets transgender or nonbinary people request a male, female, or “X” identification marker on their passports, rather than choosing their biological sex, The Associated Press reported.
