The Trump administration on Thursday again asked the Supreme Court to let it push ahead with restrictions on mail ballots before this year’s midterm elections in November.

The Supreme Court previously ruled that the administration could move forward with the executive order, which was issued in March of this year, that directed the Department of Homeland Security to compile lists of eligible voters nationwide, on a state-by-state basis. 

The emergency appeal comes after a judge in Boston handed down a new decision blocking President Donald Trump’s executive order for two weeks, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The executive order would block the U.S. Postal Service from delivering absentee ballots to voters not on state-approved rolls.

The Supreme Court did not rule on the legality of Trump's executive order but opposed the timing of the legal challenge.
