Trump decries 'witch hunt' as he appears in NY court for hush money case

Donald Trump appears in court once again, this time in the hush money case brought by the Manhattan District Attorney.

Former President Donald Trump appeared in court Monday for a hearing as part of the ongoing hush money case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

"This is a witch hunt! This is a hoax! Thank you,” the former president told the press as he entered the Manhattan court.

Trump was charged by Bragg with 34 counts of falsifying business documents related to a reimbursement to his lawyer, Michael Cohen.

The lawyer, Trump's former fixer, alleges he made payments to former adult film actress Stormy Daniels under a nondisclosure agreement to prevent her from publicizing allegations she had an affair with Trump before the 2016 presidential election.

The hearing today comes as Bragg's case faces a delay. Last week, federal prosecutors began turning over hundreds of thousands of pages of documents to Trump's defense team, prompting calls to postpone the start of the trial so there would be time to review new evidence.
